Shwanda Williams is the founder of MOMS, an organization created from personal experience, pain, and purpose. After watching her own son become involved in gang activity, she refused to stand by and do nothing. She attended town hall meetings, spoke out in the community, and worked tirelessly to protect her child and others facing the same struggles.
Her journey became even more personal when her home was shot multiple times—turning fear into fuel for change. Instead of giving up, she turned her pain into a mission to help other mothers, mentor young men, and stand against gun violence.
Through MOMS, Shwanda is committed to creating safer communities, offering guidance to families in crisis, and showing young people that there are better paths ahead. Her work is rooted in compassion, resilience, and the belief that one voice can spark real change.
"We are not just raising boys... we are molding kings."
